A Truly Unique Experience

We are the only company in Sitka that includes this feature on a wildlife-watching tour. Hear whale communication and songs with our onboard research-grade hydrophone and state-of-the-art sound system.

Cetaceans are much more dependent on sound for communication and sensation than land mammals because other senses are of limited effectiveness in water. The word “song” is used to describe the pattern of regular and predictable sounds made by some species of whales. Whales’ songs have been described as “strikingly similar to human musical traditions.”

Here is a sneak preview of the whale songs you may hear on the tour!
